AFRICA PUBLIC DISCOURSE

Strategic Thinking for a Rising Continent

The African Public Discourse is a flagship program of the Africa Center for Strategy & Policy. The objective is to highlight Africa’s potentials, debunk myths, create awareness and to make accessible to the world, the opportunities, positive trends and great ideas from Africa through public discourses, debates, lectures and constructive talks. All events must meet three core standards in keeping with the Center’s mission:

  • Constructive—speakers must identify challenges and strengths
  • Fact-based, data-driven and grounded in truth and honesty
  • Must highlight policy implications and recommendations

Everything we do—from our events, to lectures, to talks—are driven by this goal: How can we best identify and optimize Africa’s opportunities?

A conversation with Africa

Our talks and constructive stories provide a platform for retrospection. To give Africans, especially youths, a platform to tell their own stories, experiences and shape their own narratives.

Lecture Series

Our lectures are generally 6o minutes or less in length. The goal of the lecture series is to foster the understanding of continental Africa with its 54 member countries and a rich diversity and history

Events

We provide a unique forum in the heart of the United States— Washington, DC, where opinion formers, world leaders, policy-makers, students can be heard, and their views discussed in a tough but honest and impartial space.
