The CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST plays an important role in increasing revenue for the Africa Center for Strategy and Policy, with a focus on being part of a team that pursues financial support via: grant applications, regional donor programs and individual gift cultivation. In this role, you will be tasked with assisting in the development of compelling proposals that will result in funding; overseeing the establishment and management of partnerships; and strengthening existing relationships that facilitate the economic wellbeing of the Center.

Primary functions

• Assist with developing goals and a plan for raising money
• Assist with refining that plan to adopt strategies and campaigns that reflect the ideals of the Africa Center for Strategy and Policy
• Assist with writing grant proposals and managing endowments
• Assist with planning and managing marketing efforts like direct mail campaigns
• Assist with planning fundraising events such as dinners, receptions, and parties
• Assist with developing alliances with other organizations
• Work collaboratively to enhance fundraising efforts
